Halo Rustique Replacement Conservatory, Mrs Edgell, east Leicestershire A tired ‘80’s conservatory with a leaking polycarbonate roof was ripe for a makeover when Melanie Edgell approached Magna Windows for a quote. “The old conservatory was in a sorry state and flooded every time there was heavy rain. It was also a highly impractical ‘P’ shape that was dreadfully dated and just not in keeping with the house.” The 1930’s farmworker’s semi demanded a simpler look and having used Magna Windows for uPVC window replacement five years earlier Melanie decided to co-ordinate the look, using tried and trusted installers. Working closely with the sales and installation team, she decided on a roomy, rectangular construction, using part of the original footings to create a large ‘lean-to’ with a sloping glass roof and French doors out to the garden. Old French doors to the living room and a window in the former dining room were also replaced with two new sets of Frency doors, creating a circular flow of space and adding a stylish family living area. The conservatory frames were manufactured using Magna Windows’ Halo Rustique profile range, with an Ultraframe roof glazed with Pilkington Active Neutral, self-cleaning glass. “The new conservatory adds a whole new dimension to my home which I am proud to show off,” said Mrs Edgell. The service I received from Magna Windows was also exemplary, every step of the way and I am delighted with the results, which have added a good deal of value to my home.” View Conservatories...

Rustique Windows and Suffolk Collection Door Mr and Mrs Pickering, Knighton, Leicester Replacement windows and doors for a large period semi in the sought-after district of Knighton required a highly sympathetic approach, which was guaranteed when Kerry and Richard Pickering sought out Magna Windows through word of mouth recommendation. With two small children, the flaking front door and rusting crittall windows were a security risk the couple could no longer live with. Magna Windows was able to deliver exactly what they wanted – a subtle yet effective woodgrain exterior finish, called Rustique, which is perfectly in keeping with the traditionally designed home.  “The windows have made a huge impact to our property both in terms of looks and thermal performance – no more rattling windows every time we close the front door and we know that our children are absolutely safe.” To further enhance the Pickering’s home, Kerry and Richard chose a period design front door from the Suffolk Collection, a modern PVC-u, woodgrain effect material requiring minimal maintenance, yet delivering all the charm and character of its timber equivalent. Kerry explained: “Thanks to Magna Windows we have created a beautiful entrance to our home, that really sets the tone for our property and windows that have eliminated all draughts. Combined with the authentic design of the finished look, we couldn’t be more proud of our home.” View Suffolk Doors Suffolk Collection Brochure Rustique Collection Brochure...

Ixworth Suffolk Door and Porch Refurbishment Mr and Mrs Brady, north Leicestershire When Mr and Mrs Brady moved into their 1950s-built house, a prime candidate for refurbishment was the outdated white uPVC front door, set into a frosted glass porch that imbalanced the look of the house. “We had moved from a period terraced cottage to a larger, more modern home that still had character, but that door just had to go,” said Mrs Brady. “We wanted a replacement porch in keeping with our property but also with traditional appeal. We were also looking for something a bit different in that it would become a feature of the property and stand out. ‘We had looked at composites door for their strength and durability, but we also wanted it to look as near as possible to a real wooden door.” Having contacted another local firm for a quote, but gaining very little in the way of constructive advice, the couple sought help from Magna Windows and really appreciated the care and attention they received throughout the whole selection and installation process. “They definitely went the extra mile to help us find exactly what we wanted and were very helpful in supporting a look that would work perfectly,” explained Mrs Brady. After extensive deliberation, they opted for Magna Windows’ ‘Ixworth’ style Suffolk door, which they chose in a bespoke, deep plum-toned finish that adds a really impressive approach to the house. A white woodgrain frame and subtle panels completed a very classy looking installation. “The work was completed smoothly and efficiently by the installation team, who were always really helpful. It is an amazing transformation that has made such a difference and has attracted many positive comments from neighbours and passers-by." View Suffolk Doors Suffolk Collection Brochure...

Heritage Replacement Windows and Suffolk Collection Door Mr and Mrs Envis Rothley, Leicestershire Word of mouth recommendation led Stephen and Christine Envis to Magna Windows through their daughter, who was impressed by the service she had recently received on her own home improvement scheme. The couple had a tricky project in store, with replacement windows and a front door required for their centuries-old cottage dating back to 1747. “We were looking for replacement windows and a door to the front of the cottage which would provide practical insulation and security without extensive maintenance, whilst also maintaining the original character of our home and we wanted to ensure we chose the right look,” said Stephen. With lots of choice available and sound advice from Magna Windows, they opted for timber alternative Heritage windows and a Suffolk door, both in a subtle olive shade, which perfectly suit the traditional look of the cottage and which the couple say have also drawn admiration from people passing by. “The finish has made such a difference to the kerb appeal of our house. It is really in keeping with the property and has fooled passers by into thinking the lovely new windows are real timber. People have even knocked on the door to tell us how good they look. “The service we received from Magna Windows could not have been better, from the initial assessment and visiting the showroom, to the completion of the job, which was carried out by the tidiest workmen I have ever seen. The whole process could not have been more enjoyable and we are delighted with the results.” View Suffolk Doors Suffolk Collection Brochure View Heritage Windows...
